The Office of the Deputy Ombudsman for Visayas has found Salvador Trinidad, Jr., of Palompon National High School guilty of Grave Misconduct and ordered his dismissal from the service. Trinidad was found to have sexually molested a high school student and was sentenced by the Regional Trial Court of Barauen, Leyte to imprisonment ranging from four to nine years.

According to Deputy Ombudsman Paul Elmer Clemente, “[the] government cannot tolerate such an abhorrent and morally depraved conduct on the part of an educator who is supposed to carry out a noble task of rearing the youth into responsible citizens of this country.”

Aside from dismissal, Trinidad was meted the accessory penalties of perpetual disqualification from holding public office, forfeiture of retirement benefits and barred from taking the civil service examinations. ###
