James Joyce, mayor of Jose Abad Santos, Davao del Sur Oriental is facing indictment before the Sandiganbayan for violation of Article 282 (Grave Threats) and Article 266 (Slight Physical Injuries) of the Revised Penal Code (RPC).
The case arose from a road altercation in October 2014 in Barangay Caburan Small in Jose Abad Santos during which Mayor Joyce inflicted bodily harm and threatened to kill a certain Brown Tan Camacho, Sr.
Under the RPC, Grave Threats is committed when a person threatens another with the infliction of an act or a wrong which amounts to a crime. ###
