The Office of the Ombudsman has ordered the filing of Informations against the former Officer-in-Charge of the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines for failure to indicate his business interests in his Statement of Assets, Liabilities and Net Worth (SALN) filed from 2003 to 2006.

In an eight-page Resolution, the Ombudsman found probable cause to charge Gerry Buhain of four counts of violation Section 8 of the Code of Conduct and Ethical Standards for Public Officials and Employees (Republic Act No. 6713) as he failed to truthfully disclose that he was an incorporator of the following businesses: Electro Magnatech Trading and Services Corporation, The Epicurean Palate, Inc., Borscht Trading & Services Corporation, and Fuji Aire Car Aircon Center, Inc.

Under R.A. No. 6713, the SALN shall contain information on any existing interest or connection in any business enterprise whether as proprietor, investor, promoter, partner, shareholder, managing director, executive, creditor, lawyer, consultant, accountant or auditor.

All public officials and employees are required to file a true, detailed and sworn SALN on or before April 30.###
