The Office of the Ombudsman directed the filing of an Information against Junaida Prantilla, former City Planning and Development Coordinator of Valencia City, Bukidnon, for falsifying a liquidation report in connection with expenses utilized during the city’s annual budget hearing.
Records show that the city government conducted its annual budget hearing from 24 to 26 November 2008 at the Crown Regency hotel in Davao City. In her official capacity, Prantilla received the amount of P396,800.00 to defray hotel and food expenses plus per diems for the activity. Prantilla, however, submitted falsified receipts allegedly issued by the hotel and food service providers in her liquidation report.
In the Resolution, the Ombudsman ruled that “the elements of falsification are clearly present in this case” as “Prantilla made untruthful statements” in the liquidation reports. ###
